Horseback Riding

Padre Nuestro is part of the Parque Nacional del Este national park in the La Romana – Bayahibe area of the Dominican Republic, and is a wonderful place to discover the indigenous flora and fauna of the country.

This horse riding excursion will lead you through the indigenous dry tropical forest of Padre Nuestro to the Cueva de Chico, a cave and underground lake, where petroglyphs created by the Taino indians (the native Indians and original inhabitants of the Dominican Republic) can be seen.

Horseback Riding “Cueva de Chico”

Horseback riding to the caves and beaches of the National Park!

Cueva de Chico – Padre Nuestro is part of the Parque Nacional del Este National Park in Bayahibe and offers a great opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna. This horse ride takes you through the tropical dry forest of Padre Nuestro to the Cueva de Chico, a cave with an underground lake, where can be admired Petroglyph pictures painted by the pre-Columbian Taino Indians. Take this unique opportunity to swim in its crystal clear blue waters.

Parque del Este – Playa: a ride all along the coastline of the Parque Nacional del Este on the wonderful beach. Enjoy the unique experience of observing the nature of the Park and the sea on the other hand. You also have the opportunity to swimming. The excursion towards Bayahibe offers you a ride through the dry forest, passing small scenic beaches, until the village, where we’ll park our horses. Super Saona

Incomparable Saona package culminating with a great Sunset party on the catamaran!

You will take the sea directly from the Resort pier with the speedboat along the coast of the stunning National Park Parque Nacional del Este.

The first stop is Palmilla – in its crystal clear waters, known as the natural swimming pool, you will swim, take pictures with huge starfishes and toast with a glass of rum! We continue to the beautiful beach Canto de la Playa, were you will be welcomed with fresh Pineapple juice served in its fruit, maybe with a shot of rum.

Saona Combined

Fast ride by speedboat and relaxed sailing with catamaran

For this excursion we depart from the hotel pier, either by speedboat or by catamaran (one group goes by catamaran, another comes back with it along the east coast of the Dominican Republic; all along the Dominicus beach, neighboring hotels and the palm coast of the beautiful Parque Nacional del Este National Park, which is home to 112 different bird species.

On the trip by catamaran you enjoy the open bar with rum and soft drinks while you can dance to vibrant Dominican music.

Our first stop is Palmilla, a natural swimming pool, in which we swim and toast with rum and where you can take pictures with huge starfishes.

Fishing (Rent-a-boat)

Tight lines! This is a trip for those who are patient and adventurous !

We leave from the hotel pier with a small speedboat and navigate to the open sea, where we stop for two hours to hang the rod into the water to catch giltheads and barracudas. Our experienced captain will take you to the best fishing grounds.

Catalina Snorkeling

A snorkeling trip with impressive views behind the scenes of the Caribbean Sea!

From the hotel pier the excursion starts with the speedboat heading west to Catalina Island. Upon arrival we drop the anchor off the coast above the reef to snorkel in the crystal clear waters, inhabited by a huge colorful marine life.

We will also snorkel over El Pared (The Wall) to enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea floor, which falls here into the depths! Afterwards we go to the Playa Viva, the exclusive beach of our resort on the island of Catalina, where we have time to relax, sunbathe and swim in the sea or further snorkel in front of the beach.

Around noon we leave the beach on the way towards Viva Wyndham Dominicus, along the coast of La Romana, navigating right in front of the famous Casa de Campo resort, with its impressive millionaire villas and the largest marina in the Caribbean, the Marina Casa de Campo which you can to see from the boat.

Dominibus Chavón

Find out more about the Dominican Republic and experience with us the beauty of our island!

The Dominibus is a folkloric in Dominican-style converted passenger bus. Of course, the built-in bar with rum and soft drinks cannot be missed.

You will explore the surrounding area as well as one of the most romantic places in the Dominican Republic – Altos de Chavón. It is a reconstruction of a Spanish village of the 16th century which is located inside the Casa de Campo Luxury Villa Resort, high above the Rio Chavón river.

Altos de Chavón today is an art and painting school. Here you will not only visit this wonderful place, but also the local art gallery, craft workshops craft workshops, shops and the Taine Museum. Then you continue through the nearby provincial capital of La Romana, a typical Dominican town. Here you have good shopping opportunities. On the way back we we stop for driving on a typical river boat along the Rio Chavón with open bar and music. Then it goes back to our village.

Santo Domingo City Tour

Varied city tour with impressive scenery, cultural highlights and shopping opportunities!

On this excursion you will explore the capital of the Dominican Republic; Santo Domingo.The city was founded in 1496 by Bartholomeow Columbus. It is known as the first city of the New World and as the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement of America.

We will drive to Santo Domingo for about 2 hours in an air-conditioned bus. Upon arriving to the capital we will visit the Zona Colonial – the Colonial Zone -, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is adjacent to the Ozama River and offers an impressive number of buildings from the 16th century such as palaces and majestic churches that reflect the architectural style of the Spanish late medieval period.

In the Zona Colonial, we visit the Alcázar de Colón, the Altar de la Patria, the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor and the El Conde shopping street – where you will have some time for shopping. Afterwards we go to have lunch in a typical Dominican restaurant. After lunch we visit the Rum Museum, where you will learn about its history and production. Of course you can also taste various flavors. Then we start the return journey to the resort.

Los Haitises National Park

A visit to the wonderful Haitises National Park. Arriving at the village of Sabana de la Mar we take a boat to cross the waters of the Caño Hondo River for about 15 minutes, to the bay of San Lorenzo and then to the bay of Samaná, to penetrate the rich forest of a lush landscape.

Los Haitises National Park is a natural sanctuary for many species of birds, reptiles, crustaceans, fish, shellfish, a variety of orchids.

During our visit to one of the caves we can see pictographs and petroglyphs left by the Taino Indians who inhabited these caves. We also see a virgin beach that is accessible only by sea.  After traveling for about 50 minutes you will reach the waterfall El Salto de Yanigua, where we can swim and relax, but especially to enjoy a natural and therapeutic spa with high quality clay.

Returning we stop at a poor children’s village, where you can interact, give gifts like pens, clothes, personal items, (no money or sweets pls.) etc. We serve a light breakfast and a typical Dominican lunch.

Samaná El Limón

Waterfall El Limón & Bacardi Island Cayo Levantado

  • We leave from Viva early at 6:10 am to start this adventure among the most offered on our island.
  • After approx. 3h of cruise, observing the interesting nature and life in the typical towns of the Dominican Republic, we will arrive at the pier of Las Cañitas, in the south of the bay of Samaná, where we embark.
  • We crossed the bay with the boat and after about 40 minutes we arrived at the town of Samaná, where we take the Safari truck.
  • We visit a typical farmer house where we observe the preparation of cocoa and chocolate among others and then we go directly to the ranch.
  • We take the horses and ride for 35 minutes to Salto Limón, the most impressive waterfall on our island.
  • We walked down the stairs to the fantastic Salto de El Limon (150 steps, not suitable for outpatient problems and suffering from the heart!). There we enjoyed bathing for 45 minutes.
  • Arrived at the Ranch where we enjoy the typical lunch of this area.
  • We take the Safari truck again to the Samaná pier, where we embarked for Cayo Levantado – the famous Bacardi Island, where we stay until 4:00 pm. Departure from Cayo Levantado with the boat to Las Cañitas and return by bus to the Hotel.

Crazy Wheels – Quad & Buggy

Action-packed tour to drive by yourself the crazy 4×4 motorbikes and Buggies!

On this trip you take the safari truck from the resort out in the nearby village Benerito – a typical settlement in this area where the 4×4 Quads and Buggies are waiting. After a short safety training you will then let the engines roar and start for this adventure! Through the village it goes over dirt roads and trails through the countryside and the sugar cane fields. On the way, while the exciting ride on the buggies and quads, we also drive through a small village in which the Dominican and Haitian farm workers live with their families.

You will stop in a sugarcane field to taste freshly cut sugar cane and for a possible driver change. It continues then until the next stop, during which will be served fresh tropical fruits and cold drinks. Here the vehicles can be changed between Quad and Buggy.

Probably the most popular stop of this excursion is the Chavón river, where the water provides a welcomed respite. If you want you can jump into it and shoot great photos of the beautiful environment and of the Buggies or Quads.
