Super Saona

An unparalleled, full tour of Saona Island, culminating with an epic celebration aboard a catamaran at sunset!

We depart on a speedboat from the pier located at the resort off the coast of the striking Parque Nacional del Este National Park. Our first stop is Palmilla, also known as a natural swimming pool for its crystal-clear waters. You will have the opportunity to swim, take pictures and toast with a glass of local rum. We continue our way towards stunning Canto de la Playa, a unspoiled beach on Saona Island, where you will be welcomed with fresh pineapple juice served inside its fruit. We will visit Mano Juan, the only settlement on the island and a charming fishing village and popular tourist spot. You will have an opportunity to taste fresh coconut.

The tour continues aboard the speedboat towards the exclusive Viva Saona beach, with its alluring white sands. Sit back, sunbathe, play volleyball, take incredible pictures, dance alongside our animation staff or swim in its turquoise waters as you relish in the open bar and Caribbean beats. Our buffet-style lunch offers several varieties of meat, pasta in lobster sauce, salad, rice, vegetables and a whole lot more.

Saona Combo

We combine a relaxing sailing catamaran ride with a swift return aboard a speedboat.

We depart from the pier located at the hotel, off the East coast of the Dominican Republic, traveling across Dominicus beach, neighboring hotels and palm coastline of the beautiful Parque Nacional del Este National Park, home to 112 different bird species. Enjoy an open bar aboard a catamaran, stocked with soft drinks and rum, as you dance to the spellbinding rhythm of Dominican music.

Our first stop is Palmilla, a natural swimming pool, where we will go for a swim and raise a toast to Dominican rum; you will also have the opportunity to take pictures with gigantic starfish.
We will then arrive at Saona Island and the exclusive Viva Saona beach, where you may relax at your leisure, sunbathe, play volleyball and swim in its turquoise blue sea, as you enjoy an open bar and Caribbean-style music. Catalina Snorkeling

A snorkeling trip with impressive behind-the-scene views of the Caribbean Sea!

This excursion begins at the Viva Wyndham Dominicus pier with a speedboat heading westward towards Catalina Island. Upon our arrival, we drop anchor off the coast, above the coral reef to do snorkeling in its crystal-clear waters, inhabited by schools of colorful marine life.

We will also snorkel above “La Pared” (The Wall) to enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea floor as it falls into its depths! Our next stop is Viva Beach, our resort’s exclusive beach at Catalina Island, where we will have time to relax, sunbathe and swim in the sea or continue to snorkel in front of the beach.

At around noon we depart from the beach and head towards Viva Wyndham Dominicus, along the coast of La Romana, just in front of the renowned Casa de Campo resort, with its impressive luxury villas and the Casa de Campo Marina, the largest marina in the Caribbean, visible from our speedboat.

Blue Caribe Catamaran

Bayahibe Snorkeling

Discover the secrets of the Caribbean.

Bayahibe Bay is located a few minutes away from the pier of the resort. Our first stop takes us to discover the hidden secrets and history of the remnants of our well-known Atlantis Princess wreck.

You will leave directly from the Viva Wyndham Dominicus pier to discover one of the most known remains from the Atlantic Princess wreck, you will be able to see a large variety of fishes and also be able to watch how the diver explore the remains, this adventure will make you discover also the coral reef of Bayahibe. This is a family-friendly excursion.

Deep Sea Fishing

Good catch! An ideal excursion for those with an adventurous and even-tempered nature.

We depart aboard a small speedboat from the pier located at the hotel to sail on the open sea, where we will make a two hour stop to drop the fishing lines for some big game fishing.  Our experienced captain will take you to the best fishing grounds.

Previous fishing experience not required. Aside from serving rum and soft drinks, fishing gear is included. Up to 4 people can participate in this excursion for the same price.

Four people may rent the boat for the same price.

Crazy Wheels – Quad & Buggy

Ride on a monster 4×4 ATV or buggy for this action-packed tour!

On this trip we will hop aboard a safari truck at the hotel and head towards the nearby town of Benerito – a typical settlement in the area where the 4×4 ATV’s and buggies are expecting us. After a brief safety training, you will be set to rev up your engine….and, let the adventure begin! You will traverse the village through dirt and roads, nature trails and sugar cane fields.

On this thrilling journey, traveling by buggies and quads, we will also drive across a small town inhabited by Dominican and Haitian agricultural workers. We will make a stop at a sugarcane field in order to taste freshly cut sugar cane and switch drivers, if you’d like. We move towards our next stop, where fresh tropical fruit and cold beverages await us. At this time, you may also exchange your buggy for a 4×4 ATV and vice versa.

The most popular destination of this tour most likely is a tour of Chavon River, where its refreshing waters welcome us with a pleasurable break. Feel free to leap in and take pictures of this majestic place. Guests also have the option of driving on the same vehicle for the duration of the tour.

Santo Domingo City Tour

Varied city tour with imposing landscapes, culture and dazzling shops for shopping!

On this tour you will explore Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. Best known as the oldest city and first permanent European settlement of the New World, the city was founded in 1496 by Bartholomew Columbus.

We will board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus for a two-hour tour of Santo Domingo. Once we’ve arrived at the capital city, we will first visit its Colonial Zone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, overlooking the Ozama River and has a staggering amount of 16th. Century buildings, such as palaces and majestic churches that reflect the architectural style of the late Spanish medieval period.

While visiting the Colonial Zone, we will go to the ”Alcázar de Colón”, the “Altar de la Patria”, the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor and El Conde commercial district – where you will have time for shopping. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a typical Dominican restaurant. We will visit the Rum Museum following lunch to learn about its history and how its method of production. Of course, you will have an opportunity to sample various flavors. Following this, we head back to the resort.

Dominibus Chavón

Explore the Dominican Republic and come into contact with the beauty on the island!

Dominibus is a passenger bus reconstructed in a Dominican folklore-style; it wouldn’t be complete with its integrated bar stocked with rum, water and soft drinks. We will explore our surroundings, as well as one of the most romantic places in the Dominican Republic – Altos de Chavón, a recreated XVI Century Spanish village located inside Casa de Campo villas resort, situated above Chavón River.

Currently, Altos de Chavón is a school of art. On our visit, we will not only discover this truly magical place built in stone, but also its local art galleries, museums, shops and handicraft stores.The tour continues towards the nearby provincial capital of La Romana, a quintessential Dominican town. While in La Romana, we will visit the Tropical Market.

As we head back, we will enjoy a pleasurable ride aboard a traditional barge in Chavón River, where an open bar with Dominican music will be made available as we travel across the river, so you can dance and take pictures of its unforgettable, breathtaking landscape.

Horseback Riding at “Cueva de Chico”

Go horseback riding to the caves and beaches of the Parque Nacional del Este National Park!

Padre Nuestro-Cueva de Chico is part of the Parque Nacional del Este in Bayahibe. It offers a great opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna. This horseback ride takes you through the tropical dry forest of Padre Nuestro to Cueva de Chico, a cave with an underground lake and where you can admire petroglyph drawings painted by pre-Colombian natives, the Taino Indians. Take this unique opportunity to swim in its crystal-clear blue waters.

Parque del Este – Beach: A ride on saddleback along the coastline of an idyllic beach at Parque Nacional del Este. Enjoy the indescribable experience of witnessing nature and the ocean colliding. Samaná El Limón

El Limón Waterfall & Bacardi Island Cayo Levantado

  • We depart from the Viva Wyndham resort at 6:10 am to embark on our adventure through this island’s astonishing landscapes.
  • After approximately 3 hours of exploring the island, coming into contact with its surprising natural beauty and typical rural life of the Dominican Republic, we arrive at Las Cañitas pier, to the south of the Bay of Samaná, where we will hop on board a boat for a 40 minute trip to Samaná. A safari truck will be waiting for us.
  • We visit a typical farmhouse where we will see the elaboration process of cocoa and chocolate, among other food staples, and then head towards the ranch.
  • We head towards the Salto El Limón Waterfall, the most impressive waterfall on the island, on horseback (35 minutes), making our way down its 150 steps (not recommended for persons with heart conditions) in order to enjoy a refreshing 45-minute swim.
  • Once we make it back to the ranch, we will be greeted with a delicious typical buffet-style lunch.
  • We will board the safari truck one last time to return to the pier in Samaná and head to Cayo Levantado, the famous Bacardí Island, where we will stay until 4:00 pm. We will leave Cayo Levantado by boat to Las Cañitas and return by bus to our hotel.

Los Haitises National Park

 A visit to the wonderful Haitises National Park. 

As we approach the town of Sabana de la Mar, we will board a boat to cross the waters of the Caño Hondo River (15 minutes) towards the Bay of San Lorenzo, until our arrival at the Bay of Samaná, to make our way into the lush vegetation of an exuberant landscape.

Los Haitises National Park is a natural sanctuary for many species of birds, reptiles, crustaceans, fish, shellfish and a variety of orchids.

During our visit to one of the caves, we will be able to see pictographs and petroglyphs left by the Taino Indians who inhabited these caves 500 years ago. We can also see a virgin beach that is accessible only by sea.

After traveling for about 50 minutes, we will reach the El Salto de Yanigua Waterfall, where we can swim and relax, but especially for the enjoyment of a natural and therapeutic spa with high-quality mud to rejuvenate your skin, followed by a typical Dominican buffet-style lunch.
Upon our return, we will make a stop at a small town to visit the children of low-income families to spread cheer and distribute school supplies, clothes and personal items (no cash or candy, please), etc.

Whales watching – Samaná Bay

A day for humpback whale watching in their natural habitat and opportunity of getting up close to witness a unique experience.
